just a quicky.
do I have to twist the top intake around sideways when it rains:nenau
simple enough but a bit of a ball ache. and what will happen if its chucking it down and I forget to turn it? will it kill my engine?
 
Keep it forward, the small amount of water that goes in makes no difference.

I'd possible turn it around when near low trees or going through deep splashy puddles. But I've forgot on occasions without any issue apart from the grill breaking from branches.

Thats a very good point:thumb2 never thought of that TBH:eek:
A lot of snorkel tops have rain channels built in so any water that go's in comes out but the hose clip that secures it on
 
My Navara snorkel has rain channels to clear any water.

Mine sucks in allcomers and spits out what it doesn't fancy :sly

I've kept the original air box as it has a drain gland at the bottom :rolleyes:
Seems to do the trick for mine :cool:
 
cheers for that.and a very good point with the snow thing.
and heres a pic if the airbox fit for those that wanted it.
still a little tidying to do but works fine and seems to pull a lot better.

the old hole is welded up and sprayed black. take a closer look. and the hole is going to have a better fitting plate fitted and welded when I have a 3 1/2" tank bit.
 
looking at that pic the wing hole looks massive but the black paint is making it look bigger than it actually is.

I am so glad you said that, now looking back, I can see it is paint, but I must admit, I said to my wife, I could not understand why you had gone from that neat hole in the other pictures to that jagged finger eating tunnel.:lol
