My god how frustrating!
I have a problem with the central locking.
the key fob has never been very good with this car,it takes a good few stabs at the button before you can get it to work.
but the problem is as soon as you open the doors they lock themself again.
i resorted to using the key to manualy open the drivers door and it locks its self almost instantly.
i cant even get to the boot before it locks itself.
so basicaly its a two person job just to get in the car.
one to turn the key and the other to try and open the doors before it locks again.
i need this sortin asap as being a window cleaner im constantly in and out of it.
any ideas what to look for please.

id say only use key to open doors, lock them when leaving with the inside button next
to the puller? that way nats will go to sleep.

if lock with key, then each time open with key alarm goes off until key is in ignition...

Depends on the version of vehicle, mine had issues with the lock timer module, up by the drivers right foot behind the kick panel.

Handy piece of info.

If you lock this way though, does the LED still flash on the dash?

its a terrano 2.7td. i will try to add pics later.
using the key in the door has been as bad as the fob.
and god knows what that button thinggys supposed to do as it still locked itself with that pressed.
i will mess about with it more on sunday.
but a couple of other things may be connected to the problem.
the front drivers door seems not quite to fit right for some reason.and not quite pressing the interiour light switch. but the door and body look straight, wit hno obvious prangs or dents.
im hoping to be able to adjust it.
basicaly im going to start from the ground up.
making sure the sills and rad mounts and everything underneath is properly treated and protected.
at least i now have a car i dont mind spendind time and money on as i love it to bits even with the problems

I would open all doors and then with a screwdriver flick the catches into the door closed position, two distinctive clicks, if on a door you get one good click and then a not so good one then you will have found the faulty lock, if all OK try locking the car now with the doors open, if it locks OK then, shut one door at a time and try again till you find the faulty one, then adjust the door/lock till it works, I have had this happen when a door looks shut but is not shut properly, it unlocks straight after locking, Rick

I dont know why but its seems to have fixed itself and we havent had a problem once all day.
i think there may be moisture in the rear drivers side door as the little bar that stops the door opening is quite rusty and the window wont open on that door.
and ive still got to try and get a better fit of the drivers door.
