best value used caravan for £10k

So what are your opinions? I'm not so up to speed on modern tourers, thinking about a 4/5 berth with no fixed double bed and no end bathroom. Don't particularly want a twin axle or anything over around 23ft long total. Ideas?

We have a Lunar Lexon with a fixed end bed, we have had plenty of caravans over the years and when the children were younger we found the side dinette models with rear bathroom very good.
I did get sick and tired of put up and breaking down the beds though and now with a fixed bed, I find it works just right for us.
The Lexon EB 2006 model has over 6ft long sofas at the front which are great for lounging and also make easy single beds or a pull out to a king size, when needed:thumb2

that's the sort of thing, long front bunks that can be used as slngles but no fixed beds and no end bathroom. I have one lunar now a Freelander T5 but it is abit wide and long for the things I have planned for the caravan in question. Lunars are cool!

Lunars are nice and light also, my mate has a twin axle Swift and has fun trying to get into pitches with it.
I must say, I wouldn't go back to a non fixed bed now, sooo easy at night, just crash out

I own a couple of huge caravans that would make your mates swift look like a bread bin, one has a fixed end bed! I am looking for something to suit a particular purpose for which a fixed bed would be a waste of floor space, especially in a fairly small caravan. I like the look of these new Bailey's with the alutech shell but haven't had a lot to do with them yet :nenau

engineer that serviced our abbey recently said of those baileys, look good
but are having leak issues and the cost of repairing a relatively minor ding
might result in being written off. so watch the premiums going up to match.

still love our twin dinette twin axle, we leave front bunks as seperate beds
and the rear is left up as a bed for the little one and her toys.

we are selling our compass omega 505 2006 model 5 berth with the black windows flush fit with alloys etc
it has the l shape lounge and has bbq point outside also awning heater point out side so blows warm air off the traumer heater.
it has bench seats to rear with a pull out bunk above this. its has seperate toilet but all within a bathroom. it also had the upgrade when bought to have a micro wave as well as full cooker has also got removable carpets and comes with full and porch awning.
its for sale in south wales and is in imaculate condition only selling as want a six berth twin axle to site next year.

Sounds lovely, but not to keen on an L shaped lounge. Though to be fair Compass caravans are excellent!

I have also upped the budget to a £16k max and still can't find anything that tick s all the boxes! It is easier to find one for £3K :doh

For 16k I'd say forget the caravan and go for a motorhome. I've had tents, folding campers and caravans, just wish I could afford a campervan.
Hobby caravans might tick your box though, you get a lot more for your ££ especially when you buy from these guys Coppensrekreatie (http://www.coppensrekreatie.nl)

For 16k I'd say forget the caravan and go for a motorhome. I've had tents, folding campers and caravans, just wish I could afford a campervan.
Hobby caravans might tick your box though, you get a lot more for your ££ especially when you buy from these guys Coppensrekreatie (http://www.coppensrekreatie.nl)

I Will but a motor home one day, but to be honest for my purposes it would be impractical. It sounds odd considering, but I'm not a big fan of German caravans and I'm after something fairly compact as i do have other 'large' caravans.

Looking for a fairly traditional layout, long font bunks (long enough to use as two singles, and similar or fixed bunks at the back a Bailey Ranger 550/6 seems to fit the bill but finding one that's not worn o, overpriced or still on finance is a problem :nenau

Hobby caravans shout PIKEE to me bit I do like other foreign caravans,

One day we will get a camper, but we like to be able to park our home up and then explore/shop in our car, we have friends who love it when we meet up as they have a camper and once on site, they catch buses or walk to most places, when with us they can jump in our car:D

They do, but that particular word caused a lot of problems on here a while ago as it is considered offencive. In fact if it were spelt correctly I think it would be filtered out automatically now.

That's why I prefer not to have a caravan at the moment as I will need to go off cutting trees in my Transit once the caravan is on site and those conifer spiders and sap would get everywhere in a motor home :thumbs

Your'e thinking of the old style Hobby, the modern ones look just like any other but the finish inside is fantastic. Adrias are nice too and very light.

The very latest Hobby's look like somehting from star trek. I remember people cominng to Appleby Fair in them last year. at £25k not cheap and to big for what I need though.
