Hi welcome, thsi sounds like wind up. your front hubs may not be unlocking. so first off. service the front hubs. wont take to long at all.
what surface are you on when the low box grinds? could it be tyre slip on the road surface? again this is the wind up caused but using 4wd on a hard surface.
hope this helps.
Oh yea, if you pay your tenner youll get a step by step guide for hot to do the hubs. or pass that on to hubbi or the garage, will save them time and you money. Much MORE than the tenner you just spent.

Have you actually tried reversing a short distance to free off the hubs?:augie
Checkout your sun-visor for instructions:rolleyes:
As said before, 4x4 should only be used on the rough stuff to allow a certain slippage at the front:thumbs

Hi and welcome to the club, this is certainly the best site for you regarding the Terrano and the Ford Maverick and other Nissan 4x4's, it will be certainly be the best £10 you would have spent this side of Christmas. You can also pay with PayPal, then you have full access to all the other minor issues and the solutions often very cheap repairs (some free, some just need some grease and some time and the basic tool set).
People on this site know these vehicles better than the main dealers in many cases, especially the labour saving tips that save hours compared to the preferred garage method. I am thinking for example of front wheel CV boot replacement.
£10 , worth every penny. :thumb2
Best regards, Rustic
Hello and welcome! I agree the £10 is well worth it even if just for the advice, saved me going to a garage to fit an induction kit ;) lol....
