Image Hosting..... Moving Forwards
As you all may already be aware we are losing all of the embedded pictures found within forum post from users that have their pictures hosted with Photobucket.
Photobucket are slowly dragging their net over all users that use embed codes to post their pictures into forum posts, eBay adverts, blogs etc. Photobucket are now demanding $399 a year subscription to return the privilege to you. https://www.buzzfeed.com/katienotopo...Or0#.sydE87DV3 Whilst an in house solution would be nice for pictures etc, it also brings with it financial and legal burdens that we don't want to be accountable for. Moving forward...... For the time being, I have asked that Paul increases all users permissions so that you can edit your own forum posts, this will then allow you to re-host your pictures elsewhere and then swap the links restoring the image back into forum posts. I myself have moved to imgBB, I find no problem with them but it's not to say that these guys wont end up doing the same as Photobucket in 6 months time This still leaves the issue of members old that have since left the forum but have contributed pics in the past in great write up's. If anyone finds any broken posts, can you please post the link to the thread in this thread and I'll try and scavenge as many photos as I can and re host them. Can I ask that current members have a go at fixing their own links as I'm going to be busy enough fixing my own to start with Then I'll progress onto members posts that are no longer with us One word of advice though, imgBB doesn't dynamically downsize images on the fly like Photobucket used to, so you're going to need an intermediary app or piece of software to do this for you, alternatively switch the resolution down on the camera you take the images with, otherwise, forum images will be humongous

I'm sure I found a drop down menu, on imgbb, that let you change the photo size.
I only done it for the first photo though and it seems to have remembered it. |

Why the dislike of Flickr?
Easy hosting. Easy sizing for posting. Free. Paid option, so unlikely to shaft you as photbucket have. |
