filling the transmission
tracked some GL4 down cheap, just wondering what the fill rate is, 5 litere..... 2 litres in transfer and 3 in gearbox?? how much do i put in each box?

So how much did the gear box take Ryan ?
And how much did the transfer box take ? And I presume they are both gl4 75/90 ? Cheers |

I just filled them both until oil came out the fill plug, when I was doing it, I filled the gearbox with a cleaner and drive it slowly around the yard then flushed that out too, gets old swarf out and residue
Ohh and both oils are the same for the gear box and trsfr box |

yes I have several owners manuals and one says auto transmission fluid for the transfer box, think this is to do with cold times and 4 wheel engages when in 2 wheel due to oil drag rotating front prop, Auto TF probably sorts this, Rick
