I am thinking of having a go at doing some Zink and Nickle plating, there are a lot of vids on youtube and it doesn't seem so hard to do ideal for bits from the bike etc. has any one else ever trye'd it ? :nenau

did some copper plating years ago but could not be bothered with with the faffing about, but yes should be fairly straight forward except for the cleaning before plating, serious chemicals involved, Rick

Whether it looks easy or not, electroplating uses some serious chemicals, so wear suitable eye protection, plenty of ventilation, and avoid breathing the fumes. Avoid leaving things unattended as things can get hot quickly, hot things can ignite things too.
Take care storing chemicals, and ensure they are clearly labelled and out of the reach of children.
Good luck :thumb2

Good old uncle Rustic always on the ball for safety, but in this case very justified, potassium cyanide being one of the ones involved, Rick

I have seen it done on TV and some of the chemicals do look very nasty, good luck with the plating and give some pics to look at too....before and after, oh and during the process :thumbs
