:lol The trouble with all of those engines is that they lack low end torque--High RPM horsepower out that kazoo, but with the stock gear ratios they would be worthless--It would be a case of "wrong application".

However, if you were to put something like this, but I am not sure your gear box has enough ratios to keep it in its powerband, :augie , but the T2 is light enough that it would not have to be exactly at the peak power. And it develops only about 250 hp, but enough torque to move a mechanic's service truck over 90 miles an hour with ease!:clap

But this would be even better--there are models with the turbo relocated forward to lower the overhead space needed.

Either of these can be fit into our engine compartments and would work well in our application. It would be a good match for someone who wanted more power and gobs of torque. Besides these 2 cycle Detroits make a unique scream when wound up.:D

Only trouble with those is the weight would tip the car over these are much lighter and air cooled so no plumbing problems http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DEUTZ-8-C...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c7e14345

Pah! Those engines are crap! Mines got a airbus a380 turbo jet under the hood:D:sly

Apparently you need 2 inch body lift, chop sump about to clear diff, then cut engine mount points off chassis and fabricate new ones.

I don't think gear ratios would be a problem, and the turbo lag would be suited to my rally raid driving style :D

The increase of revs to 7k from 4k would mean more speed in gear, ie if the stock Terrano 2.7 did say 50 flat out in 3rd it would now be 70 in 3rd on the limiter which would suit the engine

What engine you talking about now then ? :augie
Why a body lift to fit an engine? If it's the skyline why not use the 2.4 sump and engine mounts ?

Rb25det

It's 6 cyl so I don't know how the 2.4 sump would fit ?

On the oz forums few guys have done this in to the old 80s mk1 Terrano and they said u need a body lift for clearance of something, I'll have a look

Ah that explains it, the devil's in the detail :lol Ignore the sump talk I thought you were going skyline.
Good luck :thumbs
