there i was parked up on top of a hill having great fun , heater on , lovely and warm , but i didnt have the engine running :doh

so for about 2 or 3 hours i was parked up with my lights on , heater running and my ham radio on :doh

battery flat again

bluddie rac time again ....... wot a plonker

When I read to "i decided to go out in the car and play with my ham radio", I could see where this thread was going:lol

so, you were at the top of a hill, at night, getting blown?

fit a leisure battery:confused:

Even if it's behind the driver's seat, or secure in the foot well of the passenger side.... Connect your radio to this.

Get your self some LED lights, I've heard about things like this that go on, on Cannock Chase.

Late at night......
Interior lights on....
Playing with your alleged " Ham Radio"
I was going to mention your huge aerial, or as some may say, your huge er***ion, but I wasn't going there..

Was your reception any good? and how many times did you successfully transmit ?

I wonder what the RAC were thinking you were doing up there on your own....:naughty

not worth it, I had one. You might aswell run a 2nd separate battery or one of those jumpstart things

Not much good on a hill at night Pete, also at only 13 watts in bright sunshine = 11 hours plus sunshine to give one hours CB use at 150 watts, Rick
