Worn Shocker Is It MOT Fail?

Hi Guy's, looks like the exhaust was broken for a while on the project truck and has worn through the top part of the rear shocker.

Does anyone know if this is an MOT Fail

no it is only a dust/dirt shroud, it does not even have to be there, but I would tape it up in order to prolong the shocks life, Rick
 
I passed (Belgian) MOT with this:

When I replaced the shocks a bit later I found that both were functionally shot as well. Strangely enough Mr MOT man did not pick up on this during the suspension test.
 
Bottom line, if it doesn't affect performance, you should be fine.
 
Shocking stuff

I agree with everyone it is not a fail though the likes of Quick-Fit who sell dampers might try it on.
Generally it is visible leaks or worn mounting rubbers that are a fail as reduction of function is hard to assess on a MoT test.
