I have it on cd but cant see what bit might be worn.

ive got it on cd and printed out.
will have a look. you know what section i need to dig out as in 4 A4 binders

possibly the bushing underneath the control housing but would be a guess.

id guess the bushing, if i remember right they are normaly plastic / nyalon and wear out. did a few in my mini.

1st choice would be the bush on the bottom of the gear lever.
then the sleave or maybe the spring. NOTE the control housing has 4 bolts 2x13mm and 2x14mm refit in the same positions as removed
