Hi

I have just fitted the tow bar, went nice and smooth as only just a couple of bolts. Just the kind of job i like!! Now onto the not so straight forward bit, the wiring. I have had a look at the link for the Terrano 93-2000 but are the wires the same colour for the 2005? Also where is the best place to bring the cable in? Is it easiest to remove the bumper to drill a hole to bring cable in? Any tips or help much appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

Wiring wil be the same colour - Nissan use the same scheme on all vehicles.

Bumper comes off with just 2 bolts either side, then you can drill up through the bottom of the well in the NS rear corner to feed the trailer wiring up to the loom which is behind the trim panel inside. You could just feed it through the vent in the bottom of the well but beaware were you ever to go wading in water to that depth the vent would then be held open and water would get in past the flap which is supposed to stop it.

Hi,
I had mine wired at a towbar specialist - but stood watching intentlly! :augie

He didnt remove the rear bumper, opened the rear door and removed the plastic trim across the back where the door closes, then he 'popped back' the near side rear interior panel (carefully - easy to break the clips). The wire came up here somewhere (I presum where the indicator/sidelights come into the vehicle)
He then cut into the loom to pick up the lives and their is an earth their too you can use.

One point.... the T2 has a built in 'beeper' so you know the indicators are working, something about it picks up the extra voltage  So no need for a seperate one (infact mine has 2 'beepers', one in the back, one in the front... he asked if I wanted one disconnecting!!!)

Good luck.... dont forget to take pics and do a workshop!!! :thumbs :thumbs

One disconnecting I'd want both of em:eek:

If you take it off road at all you'll find the towbar sockets will get smashed on the tow bar, I like others moved mine on to the rear bumper.
