The Maverick wipers have gone nuts today. Gave it a hem a flick for a single wipe , when back in the off position it just carries on. If I give screen a wash it carries on wiping and doesn’t stop which makes me think it’s not the switch.

Sounds like the park switch in the motor has stuck. It's a mechanical contact that is set by a cam on the wiper gears, and when the wipers are not used for a while, and we have cold weather, the grease goes sticky.

You could try warming up the gear end of the motor with a hair dryer, and see if that allows it to open again.

I had a similar issue with the roof motor on Suz's car when we got it, but in the end I had to take it apart, clean it up, and reassemble it with new silicon lubricant.

Could also be the relay, not sure on the Mav but on many T2's were terminal side up and could get water ingress, Rick

Classic Park Contact

An alternative is to disconnect the park contact feed if you can't fix the contact itself.
Then you will have to time switching off your wipers until they are in the park position so they do not stop mid screen.

Alternatively get another wiper motor.

Got a spare one here Jim if it's any use to you.
I was going to fit it to the Maverick I had as that had an issue with the wipers also.
