ok, im on a roll here.

so, both my front wings are rusting in the usual places. pretty bad, to be fair.

so, I want to remove them, and repair them and re spray. How hard are they to remove and if possible, can anyone advice how to do it?!

:bow

easy removal when off just fibreglass the backs then use grinder to cut away the bad stuff, then fill with erm filler :lol and sand down and paint was gonna do that to mine but dont really see the point now :augie:lol

ah brilliant chaps, thanks so much,:thumbs this is exactly what I was hoping for!! :clap

Let me know when you are going to remove your wings and I'll come to see how it's done please.

You will need to remove the bumper first and also the mud flap and the inner plastic arch liner as there is one bolt behind this at bottom and also one inside door accessed when door is open

tut...killjoy.

ahh well, good excuse to tidy up the bumper!

or, have you got any suitable wings for sale, rust free?!

Steady on there Clivvy, taking the front bumper off may reveal the rotten front cross member and give you something else to worry about.

Well, the correct colour is Ford Aubergine....bloody awkward. But I'd take any dark colour tbh as I'm not fussed how it looks, just so long as its solid! Mines a 1997 Maverick by the way.

Great guide that was linked, I have a scabby nearside wing :( was just going to replace it for another one of the same colour that's in better condition if I can find one.

Failing that I'm going to repair this one
