I'd body filler up the hole to avoid getting wing rot again and find a different spot to mount the aerial

Im in the process of spraying a new wing for the maverick. It has a knackered aerial mount attached to the wing at the moment.Would one of these aerials be an ok replacement.

No, I don't think so, 10 mm mounting, the mav is bigger I think, and at quite an angle.

You need one that comes with all the adaptors for different fittings, even then, don't throw the old aerial bits away just yet, as you may find the original plastic piece covers the existing slotted hole and is at the right angle to make an aerial fit vertically.

You can easily strip down the original aerial from the top, even when still on the vehicle, undo the nut, and it should stay in place, unless it has corroded through underneath, to see the hole size etc.

I don't think that the aerial hole is the start of any rust on the wing, but as a precaution, assemble with lots of waxoyl around.:thumb2

well, when i had my roof lining out, i mounted a bee sting aerial at the rear, i also have a wing aerial, both are amped up and i never get static :D:D
