Right I've had a day at home doing paperwork and that
I've noticed the ruddy PC going like and old landie :lol
Checked what's going on and it seems that wmpnetwk.exe is sucking up 60 - 70% of the cpu all the time:doh
I've stopped the process loads of times but it keeps switching itself back on the cheeky sod:(
Any PC type boffins tell me how to stop it?:bow

Damn thing keeps restarting itself every few minutes:doh
Any ideas anyone:nenau

As zippy says, but have you got music on any memory sticks as well.

Is your virus protection up to date, and have you run a complete scan recently?

There are a lot of virus's attached to videos on the net, not sure about Utube.

So it may have got into the programme.

Have you added any programmes to the computer recently, it may conflict with your current software.
If so you may be able to go back to a restore point.

I had problems with my PC and I deleted all sorts of stuff on the hard drive, in the end I took it to PC world and for £30 they got rid of all the trogans, and I didn't loose any data.

But I backed it up just in case.

What happened to mine was my Mcfee protection was removed, and another one inserted in it's place.
I tried to re-load it from BT.com ( part of the package) and it kept trying to load the other.:doh
So I needed a stand alone virus protection on disc to clean it up.
£30 well spent. It took nearly a week to get it back. :nenau
So I bought an acer notebook, which I use more than the main PC now. :thumb2

Thanks but no cd in there;)

Reminds me of the guy who took his PC back to PC World saying the cup holder was broken, and he spilt cofee all over his keyboard.

The Technician said, "That's not a cup holder Sir...... it's a CD drive". :lol

OK you've heard it before... :nenau

The PC is running AVG daily and has whatever the windows firewall is:thumb2
I'm pretty careful and very rarely actually download much at all. Do stream a lot though:augie
No discs in or sticks anywhere?
It seems like wmp is updating the library all the time or am I being used by other peeps online to borrow my library:nenau
I live in the sticks and the nearest PC world is 30 miles away, so I'll leave that a bit longer if I can:rolleyes:

glad to help I am sure I will need your help soon enough pete. :D

Anyone else who needs help with pc's just ask and I am happy to help.
