Winch height

Any problem with bringing the winch upto grill height ?

I want to make my mounting plate like normal then the sides will be formed from 8mm plate, they will go into chassis rails like the bumper brackets then come all the way up to grill height with winch plate welded in between

I think 2 8mm plates either side will be sufficient

What u think ?

It'll mean your towing angle is marginally high and so have a tendancy to pull the front down into the ground. Pretty small component though . Also it's good practice to keep the winch as close to the chassis structure as poss to reduce the twisting moments.
Any reason you want it that high ?
Also it may obstruct the rad a bit too

Just figured it will be better to get it well up out of deep mud so I don't have to dig it out ?
