Depends much on what you want to do with it, if just the odd time you lose traction on mud then a 7 or 9 thousand pound winch will be fine and run off the normal vehicle battery, if you want to haul up rocks and steep inclines then 13 k is better but you will need a second alternator and as much battery as you can cram in, plus some blocks, (pulley's) cannot help regard the bull bar, Rick
Thanks for the reply.
Some mud bogs can be the height of the wheels and pretty dense stuff, is rather have the capability there to get me out of needs be and there are some steep inclines that I currently avoid because they will be winch only tracks.
I've got two 750cc amp batteries in art the min on single stock alternator, I've I go to a 13k winch will I need another alternator?
Cheers
Dave
Yes a second alternator is a must if you want to go that route in mud, and understand too that electric winches are not continuously rated, 20 mins heavy work and they will need time to cool down and battery to get back up to charge, remember as voltage drops amperage rises, winch terminals will start to burn if battery pulled down too low, Rick
