Whisp of smoke

can anyone help i get a small whisp of black smoke when pulling away from junctions this only started after changing the oil and filter the oil i put in i got from milners it was fuchs titan syn mc 10/40w i did not have this problem the last time i changed my oil and filter but the oil i put in then i got from my trade supplier it was drivetec not sure what grade it was though

Have got a simular issue to you.i bought the oil and filters from milners and i am getting a bit of blue smoke and a burning oil smell.
I dropped the oil and binned the filter and fitted a new filter and put some 15/40 mineral oil in see if this helps.not had this t2 long so i am still gettiing to know all
its bad abits.

Any 15/40 will do, semi is ok but not fully synth ! terrano hates 10/40 and its too thin

stick some thing a bit cheaper and thicker in the old girl

Yes just stick in 15w 40 mineral

since changing my oil last week not one sign of smoke on start up. I used gulf tec 10/40 semi synthetic . purchased from home bargains £9.99 for 4 ltrs.

15/ 40 is the oil i use

seen as im about to do a oil change soon, i'll get 15/40, as i would of got 10/40 without thinking

Personally I look for the API CG-4 rating as well
