How do you know which variant of the washer pump to buy?

Can you let me know how you tell the difference as to which one you need? I'd like to know

Think this may be the pump type that you are looking for. The inlet is actually straight into the tank and the two outlets you can see are front and rear screens. Notice there are only two wires going to the pump, I think the control unit reverses the polarity. Mine once went and to get it through the test I simply broke into the pipe in the engine bay going to the front jets and put a universal pump inline with a seperate switch. Thing is there was so little flow the pump burnt out but atleast it got me through the test. Best solution I found was a replacement pump from a truck being broken.

Awesome picture

yes that brings back memories, thats the sucker.

Hope I remember how to get to it.

if i recall i remember thinking a hole-saw through the front wing would make it a lot easier.

is that variant 1 or 2?

Not sure what you mean about variant. All I can say that is my T reg project car and my R reg is exact same one. Last time it went on my R plate I squeezed my hand between the plastic liner and the wing, hurt like hell but it was possible to change it. Both wings off my project car at the moment so may be removing wing would make it easier but it seems a lot of work doing it that way.

If Banshee has not got one try this

I was going to get one, but I got mine working again, clean contacts thoroughly, & give it a few sharp taps without smashing it!! :thumb2

Cheers,

in fact I bought one last night before tacling the front wing.

managed to get my hand underneath and move the pump up about an inch.... then decided just to check it again ... and it worked.....

So I suspect either a wire is loose / crimped / dirty etc... but at least it's working now... dis not manage to get the entire wing off - clearly missed some bolts in the failing light

must check the manual :)

Give me a shout if you want photos of the wing fastenings. Bolts are easy if they don't snap but the ball and socket mounting for the headlamp is a pig.

i had the top three out the one or two in the door jam... then light got pants...

pics would be awesome!!
