Where's my resistor ?

Been looking for the speed control resistor (as shown in workshop article 18) but I haven't got one on either the Maverick or the Terrano. Both are 93-96 Mark 1s with no aircon.
If there's no resistor, how is the fan speed controlled ? Is there something in the slide controller or the fan motor itself ?
 
Its in the ducting by the pollen filter slot along side the motor.

Its in side the air box behind the glove box
 
Yeah, item 12. Little square thing with four wire coils inside it. That's the part I sent to the buyer - he says it's not what he needs. It's certainly not the thing shown in the workshop download.

He must have later truck are different on later models how much did you get for it
 
Can't remember , not a lot. I think you sold him one about this time last year, I saw a post where he bought the same thing, that's why I thought it was the part he needed. Plus he says he's got a 93 truck ?
