thats a standard sort of halogen bulb used in down lighters, just go to your local electrical factors and they should have millions of the holders on the shelf

is it for the low voltage type or the mains type?

What about cpc?

Jim

Not sure if it's a longer term solution but you could eperiment with chocolate block connectors? not sure how they'd cope with the heat but be ok for short term.

will see, got to get the bits together first..

may not get that hot with it beeing outside in the wind

mmmm £5 to drop in the post.. nuf said i think...

Hey Zippy, dont forget those halogens get stupid hot:eek: You'll need a second piece of glass in front of the bulb (like a lens) to stop water cracking the bulb:augie
Also the heat AND vibration will rattle nthe bulb's connections and they will burn out:doh So think hard on a really good connection. I've changed loads of these in houses with lights under stairs etc:eek:
Good luck, nice idea:thumbs

its getting harder by the second..

forgot about the heat and your right about the glass blowing if hot and wet..

maybe xlights are the thing to get...

will play just the same...

Free post if you spend over £10, and looking at their catalogue they are cheaper than Screwfix on many items.
There are many sites around the country , phone then for a catalogue you will have no problems spending £10 :lol

Toolstation were formed by the original founders of screwfix, seperate company, but they tend to build depots within site of the screwfix ones.
After all they spent time researching their original sites.

Rustic

i made a light like that for my mountain bike, run it of 12 aa batteries works a charm on the canal paths at night, best place to get connectors is local elecronics shop only cost a couple of quid.

to solve the problem of the glass cracking mount them behind either a secong piece of glass or perspex, as though they are wearing a pair of eye protectors if you like. this will keep cold water off the main lenses protecting them from cracking.

im on it now thanks. how did you hold the lapms on the bike?

bike light clamps, though for a truck i'd imagine something like U bolts would be better
