hi everyone, im after some info regarding wheels....
so, im running 7x15" nissan wheels at the moment and am looking to change them, i would like wider and higher tyres (215/80-15 atm) i also want to improve the stance of the car. i have seen for sale 16x7s and also for mitsubishes 15x7, 16x7 and 15x10. now im struggling to convert tyre sizes in my head:doh
iv worked out my current diameter to 28 1/2" and i cant go much over this on my standard wheels, but would a 10" rim fit under my arches without rubbing? the offset is -32, does this mean the inner edge is 32mm towards or away from the car?i THINK if i get the 10x15 wheels they will take 255/85 tyres which gives me a 31" diameter, so wider and higher and poking out of the arches a bit, can somebody tell me if this will work or am i not understanding it properly???:( thanks in advance, vince

An excellent post as I am after exactly the same information. Be good to read the replies to this once folks have recovered from their festive beers :thumbs

other terranos r running 235/ 80 r15 mine 235/75r16 I now have 245/ 75 r16 steel wheels with zero off set:thumbs I have only lifted the car with 40mm spring spacers on back and wound torsion bars up

I am running 31 x 10.5R x 15 Continental Cross Contact on I think Mitsubishi Alloys, do not know the width, but had to modify the body a tad, and the fronts do still touch on certain angles, and another good point my speedo is now almost accurate, Rick

I had 31.10.50.15s on the standard 7j rims without any probs.
Better off sticking with 15 inch rims as there is more choice of tyre.
When I had 16 inch rims I found the tyres a lot more expensive and less choice.

I have the 16" standard alloys. 265/75/16 bfg AT. 235/85/16 is the same circumference but narrower. a little trim is needed off the inside front flaps and an adjustment to the steering stops. (maybe no adjustment needed with 235/85/16) bonus is the speedo is almost calibrated 2-3mph under. whereas standard was 7-8mph under. brings the revs down a touch but rolling resistance increases.

Im running 265,75,16 insa turbo dakars on early hilux rims.

Cheers Gav
