Hi everybody just a quick question I was taking a good look at my new wheels and noticed that at the top they seem to face inwards towards the engine, the suspension kit I had fitted was http://www.purenissan.com/wd21_3_kit.htm and was fitted by supertrux and they were of no help when I asked them about it. I have also noticed that I have a leak in my lower ball joint on the passenger side, could that maybe affect it or do I need more shims or track rod ends, and are they a hard job to do. thanks for any help guys, cheers Paul

Sounds like you need to have your geometry properly checked and then shimmed up accordingly.

I've only very recently been looking at that kit, do LA sell it for DIY fitment as it seems daft to pay them to not do the job correctly. Otherwise I wonder how much it would be from the states, though I don't want HD springs or torsion bars. Other than the arms what else is in the kit? Do they do anything with the bottom wish bone?

can an ordinary mechanic do that or is that a trip to nissan

An ordinary mechanic can do it but you need the alignment checking first. Have to be able to check camber and castor as well as the normal toe. Instead of paying for expensive shims you can use bits of hacksaw blades with the teeth ground off.

Have editted my first post please have a look.

thanks pal I was really sweating for a while thinking it was a big job, take a look at the website, they sell the gear individually, nothing is done with the lower wish bone, I got it via supertrux just for handiness sake and nobody over here in Ireland would fit it for me and thought they would fit it right. www.purenissan.com and if you contact them I think they could send the stuff direct, I have just asked about the other parts they do and if they accept paypal, just waiting to hear back from them

nn man wasnt happy with there service either so your not alone!

Hi HB can I ask where abouts do you fit the shims :? are they fitted under the ball joints like the old mini's & metro's

Behind the upper wishbone mounting points. If you look there are 2 bolts holding a 'bar' against the inner wing, they go behind the 'bar'.

There is a table in the workshop manual to work out what thickness you need to give the desired effect once you know how far out the castor/camber are.

The shims are no more than washers behind the top wishbone, applying different thickness washers to each bolt behind the wishbone allows for altering the castor angle, after the camber has been set with the same washers.

Hi folks, I am just back from a couple of local garages and nobody seems to want to help me out because I have had a suspension lift, so that seems to be stuck without my 4x4 for a while, hopefully Nissan can help me out or I am going to be really stuck, no way of getting to work

more i hear about la supertrux less likley i am to buy anything from them sounds like there just bolting the kits on and to hell with consequencies

See if a tyre place somewhere will at least do you an alignment check so you can find out how far out your suspension is. You should only really need the front doing as there is nothing to adjust at the back anyway and the lift shouldn't have affected anything - I think the Calmini kit comes with a extension to correct the panard rod which is the only bit that would have really been affected buy the lift.

hiya Jace thats exactly what they have done, and they are leaving new parts out as they did not replace my old ball joints with the new ones in the kit

sounds like they split your ball joints with fork tool spliting the rubber sheath bodgers!
