Is there anyone around the LE9 area that would be able to collect a wheel clamp for me and hold onto it for me until I can arrange getting it from you :nenau

Is it still attached to a vehicle?

Just wondering if your trying to avoid a release fee.

:augie

Get a hitch lock as well as a wheel lock.

With just a wheel lock, thieves have been known to just drag until the wheel lock disintegrates.

With just a hitch lock they've been known to clamp their own "strap on" hitch and go.

On twin axles don't forget to put the wheel lock on a rear wheel.

I know too many people that have lost trailers that they "thought" were secure.

Another little, cheap, idea is an improvised movement alarm.

Get a good quality "rape" alarm, attach it under the trailer. Take the "pull out" cord/strap and attach it to the ground/nearby wall/fence/house. If anyone moves the trailer all he'll breaks loose!

:thumb2

It's also useful if you have to leave it attached to the vehicle anywhere, just attach the pull out bit to the vehicle.

Can it wait till the 19th?
How did you get on at the docs.

Said it was muscular but I've got to go back to the docs tomorrow because I keep having panic attacks now :(

My missus had them (recently) docs sent her to hospital but all tests came back clear. :nenau
The uncertainty and stress caused by having them, made them more regular. Still no idea what started them though?
Not me obviously, I'm easy to live with:lol

Why rear wheeel?

Why rear wheeel?

Because if you lock the front wheel/axle, you can jack the trailer/caravan up on the dolly wheel until the front wheel and lock is clear of the ground and drag it down the road unhindered!

:lol

A trick I found usefull when my wifes Ifor Williams horse trailer had a flat. Didn't bother jacking, just wound the jockey wheel down and changed the wheel.

If I had a caravan that only got used a few times a year I'd lock diagonally opposite wheels and remove the other two. Moveable for access by unlocking clamps, but bloody difficult to tow down the road.

All you can ever do is try to persuade thieving shites to try somewhere else. If they are desperate to take it, they will.

Sometimes I think it would be good to have the mind of a criminal :lol

If you want to stop them, you've got to think like them. By that I mean you don't have to think about how to nick stuff without damaging it, but how to nick stuff regardless of damage to property.

A friend had someone trying to get into a sea container, they smashed the hell out of the dash of his JCB telehandler trying to start it so they could use it to rip the window shutters off.

They got...

...absolutely nothing.

They caused £600 of damage.

You can only really stop the opportunist, if you have been targeted by a professional you are unlikely to stop them, in the days of rogue wheel clamper's I carried a mini disc cutter and inverter in the car at all times :naughty Rick

I just had an Aston Martin db9, wheels were to big for clamps to fit. :)
