what have you changed in your life so far this year ?.

what is new about you ?

and why ?

ok my story, 8 or 10 weeks ago i got a free sofa from friends. the only way to get it home, was on the t2 roof

doing this i snapped the aerial off my truck
so couldn't get music on the radio. till i found classic fm. strangely i can get classic all the way from my house to work without the headache you'd expect from no Aerial

you know what . i bloody love it now

I bought another t2 that's also got a broken aerial:nenau:doh

Nothing to do with the T2.

This year I've got involved with fundraising for Help For Heroes:thumb2. We have set ourselves a target to raise £100,000 in a year.

So between that and Air Cadets I've got no spare time and the year is flying by (no pun intended).

WE have just stuffed the local planning department cos we converted our stables just over 4 years ago to full living accommodation, all the council was interested in was getting us off the land with our mobile home/caravan, they stuffed themselves well short, we win, they loose, but they do not know it yet, I love this bit, Rick

My baby girl going from strength to strength, we had a letter from the hospital yesterday telling us that her liver is getting better and starting to get rid of the things that were harfull to her that it couldn't get rid of before

That is really good news, keep at it mate, all the very best, Rick

well, ive mainly been ill so im working hard to sort that out.

started some jobs at home sorting the caravan out and shed

tinkering with the cars and have lent my mate my MX-6 to help him out.

busy at work as usual, not much else to report, its been pretty quiet with me being ill.

Major rethink on life direction...

.... had operation for bowel cancer - you start to evaluate stuff - value what's real and discard the trivial. I'm through it now - and plan to do something (not sure what yet) to raise awareness of bowel cancer and the need for everyone to get themselves screened. Early detection = 90% chance of a decent life expectancy - late detection = early death.

Get yourselves checked out you guys around 60 years old. Do it now. Please.

Ricoh and Sedgers posts beat 'em all. Well done the two of you (well three actually!)

How has my life changed? Well I'm a grandad for the second time, I'm ten times more broke than I was in January and now I'm having to learn the ins and outs of search engine optimisation and Google analytics.....what a palaver!

But its all good.:thumb2

well done Sedger, its heart warming to hear a story like this (although I do understand partly what you have been through) and its great to hear you have pulled through.

glad you pulled through

Given the serious shit some people are surviving, it's almost embarrassing...

Financials continue to decline.
Mortgage company moving for repossession.
House on market.
Still no job.
Mother confirmed with dementia.

Thus with no job I cannot afford a place to rent to get out of house when it's sold to alleviate some of my debt, and that's only if my secured loan holder agrees not to block the sale due to lack of equity for them after mortgage paid. Downgraded jobsearch as no mortgage means no need for big job... Still nothing.
As attorney for my mother, bankruptcy or similar is not an option. Running out of things to sell on Ebay to stay solvent.

In the end, no-one is dying, and it will only be deeply unpleasant for me briefly while my pride, possessions and pets get redistributed. But it is cold comfort.

there have been some very uplifting stories on here, and some no so happy ones.

not a lot has changed for me, just keep muddling through - as per

though over the last few weeks i do feel brighter than i have done in a long time and i like to think this club and it's members have played a part in that - thanks :clap

Its a bitching situation mate.....and as my wife say, the only way out is through it....but you've got your health and your family. Keep your end up.:thumbs

well i never expected the response i got from this thread, im pretty moved by some of the members news, mostly good , but some bad, sadly clanwolfs dilemma is one i do understand very well, and although im fighting to keep mine still , with a job you can make it happen without, its pretty much out of your hands, its a tough rut to be stuck in . thats for sure and i hope it works out for you . im working as a carpenter now, not been on those tools for 20 years , but i just bumped into a chippy on site who , gave me the chance. turns out he wants me to stick around and anything he can do to help me he is , work, materials .
you never know who you will meet , and how they will effect your life. bit like paullllllllyyyyyyyyy really, he really turned my life around too :thumbs

the good news. beating the cancer and babe is getting better, well that has made me feel better about life and the future

i guess we are all lucky and we never know what life has in store for us next... but im hoping for some more good news

I have some test results that PROVE what i said wasn't right IS true..

It dont work... so off to hospital soon i hope to get it all sorted.. after 20+ years!!!

I think what's been posted is just a microcosm of what goes on all the time but we don't often see it. Probably too caught up in our own little world. One thing for certain, when money gets tight and health issues raise their head, it very quickly puts life in perspective. I'm coming to realise that it is possible to get by on very little and the old way of working flat out to spend it on unecessary stuff just leads to pressure, hassle and a loss of perspective. Now I'm broke, I feel better and don't miss the aches and pains which go with HGV driving. I would like a little extra cash but some part time work could sort that. Currently back in school trying to update my IT skills (or lack of IT skills). Spreadsheets today and I'm not looking forward to it, tutor is a dragon.
