Just as it's chucking it down i dont want to look. What tools do i need to take off the side steps? Just a ratchet and certain size socket?

It is just the bolts right? :nenau

yep and they will probably sheer as you undo them :lol

My missus wants me to put gay steps back on the Patrol so I've come up with a cunning plan.
Build some rock sliders that'll mount to the chassis and tell her indoors that this way they won't rust away like the gay steps and will be cheaper to make ;)

Clever. And no, no sale just doing offroading and keep catching em. Theyre still clean at the mo but will be going in the scrap. U reckon tightene em up causing em to snap in? What do they bolt to and is it better if water cant get in?

chasis needs some holes to stop condensation build up and help drainage tbh. whack a load of waxoil or used engine oil in, but be careful where you do it as it will kill your driveway. from my experience of working on my own terry most snap or take hours to undo.

I'll give em a go tomorrow. My underside was quite rust free so hoping that they will come out with ease :nenau :doh

Either way they are coming off!

that's the way mate go for it :clap :thumbs

Ahah they must come off, keep catching the bastards. I'm doing some offroad hunting tomorrow in daytime so if I'm lucky I'll take a video of it too.

And then there's me "mr doesn't own an angle grinder" :doh
