WHAT. HAVE. I. JUST .READ. ?.

Think Tank? thats the stupidest think I have ever read. Bascially what they are saying is people should DIE or SUFFER rather than go see a doctor, cos a lot of people dont have £20 a time. Idiots. The answer BIG BRAINS is more doctors you stuipid idiots. Of course I refer to the think tanks. Tanks of Poo.

DId they not do this years ago with dentists and opticians??? The result is peoples teeth are in a terrible state with all the charges. Same thing will happen - pay to see the GP and you will be t that people will leave it until it becomes serious or they will find a loophole - most likely by going to the A&E where it will then put hospital services under strain.

Complete bollocks of an idea - poorly thought out and will cost us more in the long run. My answer is to stop paying out our money to doctors etc for vast pay increases that do not generate results.

Regards
Lee

if enough people protested..............................

it'll never happen of course, that's why we have such muppits, vagabonds and thieves in parliament, local government and in general office!!

Apathy, the uk's favourite past time (excluding those who actually get off their backsides and do something positive!!)

well there is a easier way to save the nhs money in these hard time, STOP immigration and throw out the illegals, thats just for a start.

im lucky to have medical centre 200yrds from my home, when i was up there a couple of weeks ago, we had to queue up out the door, and to be honest i reckon a good percentage were not from this country. £20 my ar*e as jim royale would say. :lol

The NHS seems to be a brilliant service, lucky you don't live here. €25 up to €60 per GP visit (charges vary from doctor to doctor) AND serious prescription costs, even for repeat prescriptions. We do have a free Medical Card system for some people but it is means tested i.e. you must be earning uinder a certain amount to qualify, and that won't necessarily cover all the prescription costs depending on type of medication. If we pay for than €100 a month on prescription meds, any amount over the €100 is refunded, downside is you have to PAY the chemist first and then send the forms off for the refund. Might take a month or more to get refunded. Bear in mind, if you are on meds, you probably aren't working and still need to pay bills etc. Did I mention we also have to pay A&E charges also?

blimey thats harsh liam, i reckon thats what they will try here, we have to wait upto 3 weeks to see our doctor, admittedly there is an emergency doctor facility,
it was mentioned last year about charging to see doctor, i wonder if they will stop national insurance then? :nenau:doh

We can't afford to be sick:D:D Best just to roll over and die but even then our funeral costs are very high too. Can't afford to live and can't afford to die:eek: I bet you will find that all countries will work towards having people pay for everything twice, you already pay taxes for these services and now might end up paying again. Double taxation, the way of the future:(

Bloody hell, I got myself well knackered a few years back, saw the doctor on a regular basis...............................I'd have been sodding bankrupt too

Just wait till we all have to pay compulsary Insurance just in case we have to go into a care home when we are old:nenau but don't worry because we'll be working till we are 75 and then we can work all our lives and then drop dead, this way we don't spend our hard earned pennies. This way we can pay a tax on dieing too. Hey thinking like this I could be in a think tank and get paid loads of dosh:thumbs

Its pathetic. I can quite see how some people get to the stage where they just dont give a *****.

At work I'm in a pension scheme where I pay 11% of my salary in. Unlike some of the schemes that use investments to pay out this one uses a hand to mouth ethos, cash in, cash out to pensioners.

I chose to be in it, the people who administer it sold it to me and I pay quite a lot of money in.

However.........now that incompetent bankers have screwed up so many other pension schemes (and I feel really sorry for those hit by it) a "think tank" within govt has decided ours isnt fair to others and are considering making them bin the final salary promise...........why do we bother :banghead:banghead :(
