in a word, no! while the messing up of air flows will benefit combustion, after it has left the induction pipe it will take its own path. if you could inject the air straight in , at the point of combustion this may work, but thats impossible on terry's.

I like the idea, but the first problem I can see with all their claims, is the spin up of the Turbo is via the exhaust system, so how can they help that when they are on the induction side?

Years since I've heard of these things. Shark1e the old old site owner had a set fitted to his misty and he said they did make a difference. I've never driven a vehicle with them fitted so I have no personal experience of them.

How much more messed up can the intake air be than after it's been through the turbo and intercooler :doh

From "Diesel Bob,s" tuning page :
WHIRLY/ SPINNYTHINGS

One of the latest 'amazing products' now available for diesels.

A metal fan is fitted in the air intake pipe between the air filter & turbo (or inlet manifold) which spins due to the air being drawn over it. This then makes the air swirl which supposedly increases engine efficiency.

Surely the turbo charger spinning at thousands of rpm will 'swirl' the air better than any added fan? And the turbo charger came as standard.

DOES DIESEL BOB TUNING OFFER ANY OF THE ABOVE?

NO.

and the ones in the EBAY ad has fixed fins, so will surely just slow the air down and cause a restriction?

as said few members here sometime back had them, maybe even a reader was doing club discount.

agree though surely turbo at x psi will not benefit from a bit of tin.

I remain completely bemused that these tin fins can do anything other than empty your pocket. Where ever it goes in the intake system the air will still be mushed up in Nissan's stunning intake manifold :doh You can't tell me that the air flows in an orderly fashion after the intercooler and inlet manifold have had their way with it
It's all ballox :banghead
