hi everybody, today my battery decided to die  so i'm calling on all of your expert advise to recommend a battery. considering that i have two large spot lights on the front, twin elecy fans, plus i'm thinking about putting four spot lights on the roof rack.

Optima batteries have a good reputation but are not cheap. Popular on the winch challenge scene.

Funnily i was in halfords today cheching there batteries out...
Wanted £90 for one for the T2,don't think i'll be going there

Your battery is for starting only, all of the things you mentioned are powered by the alternator (unless you hang around McDonalds playing ya banggeen toones at 400db with the engine off).

Optmas etc are ideal for winch challenge events etc but if its an everyday motor an everyday lead acid battery will do. I always use the local Trade supplier, try your yellow pages there may be a similar outfit near you. Good prices at the trade counter and really fresh recently filled batteries, non of these ones that have been on the shelf for 12 months as can happen some places.

just got price on tinternet - £74.90 :?: looked at the optima batteries 8O 8O

i might hang around mcdonalds playing my bangin toones  -rotfl-

Details of who are use are HERE

They're not far off the M1 J44 for anyone who's traveling up and down the country.

I just got one from local autoshop with 3 year warranty for £55

Can't remember make but it wasn't anything fancy.

Paid £55 in May 2002 from a Nissan Dealer it has been a good battery but now its loosing its power on cold mornings which is what i would expect from a battery well over 5 years old, i always check any part i want with local Nissan dealer first as they sometimes are cheaper than even e-bay or local motor factors.

hi guys and thaks for input. i got one today £90 heavy duty 95amh, but i think i've found the cause of the dead battery :( ................knackered alternater -banghead- -banghead- -banghead- -banghead- -banghead-
see new post - "is my alternater knackered?"

T-Jay your local motor factor should be able to tell you if the alternator is U/S

You could get a £10 multimeter and check it yourself.
Battery should read around 12volts when doing nothing and should increase to about 14Volts when engine is running. The increase tells you the alternator is working.

cheers gego, check my new post - "has my alternter stopped working?"
