What you done, fitted LWB springs and wound the torrsion bars up? Looks like you've gotta fair bit of space above the wheels now??

lwb springs and twisted the torsion bar, front will be going up more next friday and new wheels and tyres going on

What size tyres you going for? Will they be a straight swop or you gonna have to trim it alittle?

So how come LWB springs are 'higher' then the SWB... ok, more weight, but didnt think they would make that much difference?

LWB springs are slightly longer uncompressed but are also stiffer.

A LWB weighs more but also the C of G is further from the front axle line - which means more weight on the rear springs.

LWB springs lift a SWB about 35-40mm but are a bit too stiff IMHO (I had em on my previous one) for more extreme offroad use - hence i went out and had 2" lift springs made in the first place.


Its not uncommon - it works on Pajeros and other 4x4s too - probably on defenders too but they can't wind up the torsion bars to math so not such a good feature for them.

shocks are monroe uprated shocks
 
well the tyre calculator think didnt quite get it right , difernece between old and new tyres are not far short of 4" , so the mudflaps have got to go:lol
