is their anyone in devon that would like to do abit of welding I would pay . I found a hole about the size of a 50p or just a little bigger . it is just behind the passengers seat just beside the handbrake tunnel . I have tried 2 garages and they said the interior has to be removed and want to charge between £200 - £250 . my mate said he would but his welding feed gun has broke . he says it should take about 1/2 hour and just lift the carpet up out the way

Sorry mate, a bit out of my patch :augie Unless you fancy a weekend in Wales :lol

thanks for your response makeitfit and solarman . I just think it's abit of a con . when a garage say's the welding is nothing . because it's flat nothing in the way . but the money is on taking the carpet and seats out. I think it time to get and teach myself to weld

The seats won't need taking out they stand off the floor on big old metal frames. How about you prep it for them. Have you got a PIC of the offending area .

I agree, if the money is in removing the carpet, then you don't need to be able to weld to do this.
Rear seats out, no problem, and you will still be able to drive the car to the welder.

That's what I'd do. Completely remove the interior and have a good poke around. If there's any other rot it can all be done at once. All you'll need to do is bolt in the drivers seat to get it to the welder.
