Koblenz is a very nice town on the Rhine where it is joined by the river mosel and there is a very nice campsite over looking the town and a very large statue of the kaiser . It is an interesting site to visit because of the traffic on both rivers. I would hate to see Koblenz destroyed, but sadly there is a wicked thought at the back of my mind, you see when I was a toddler I and my family were sheltering in my grandparents during the Salford blitz when a german landmine destroyed the school across the road and we were trapped in the cellar with fire all around us,
something I will never forget. So you can see how I am thinking......... regards bri

Blimey Bri that's a memory and a half, I feel for you
Think on though as those in Koblenz now are not those responsible for your distress
I hope some brave type boffin can defuse it safely. Strange things happen with global warming

this I think is typical of the way these sort of jobs are dealt with today, I do not know if it is elf & safety, or jobs worths. Years ago a device was invented that you dropped over such a device, it was then detonated, it contained the resulting explosion and directed it upwards away from houses etc, I cannot remember the details but it was demonstrated in the program, might have been tomorrows world or something like that, whatever a 1.8 tonne bomb is not going to destroy Koblenz, it will barely take out a dozen houses and how many are in the Rhine? in not next to it on the banks, get real, Rick

It might blow off the Kaisers hat........or even his head,,
