new one on me, I will call the Sevenoaks supplier in the morning for details as I have a leak on my solar system that I cannot trace so must be one of the cylinder coils, it is a "Ricky" cylinder two 36 x 18 grafted together one on top of the other with two solar coils and one boiler coil in the top half, so you can see why I am not keen to change it, so will give it a go, time will tell, Rick

on second thoughts it probably will not work unless I drain the cylinders fist as I guess it only reacts with air, will talk to them anyway, Rick

I used that stuff on my combination central heating boiler, the pump was leaking at the flange where the rotor joins the body, one of the bolts was fairly loose but it only slowed the leak after tightening.

Job done, the limescale indicating the leak dried out first time I fired up the boiler, no pressure drop since.

The plumbers merchant says it works when it is in contact with air, otherwise it stays liquid and will not clog up the heat exchanger

I did not use it when my maverick water pump leaked because it was the seal not the flange

Just before we sold my wife's V8 Jeep, the rad sprang a leak. When I say "leak, we're talking Niagara Falls here. I mean, it was flooding out. You'd have thought I'd been stabbing the rad with a screwdriver it was that bad.

In desperation, I tried ultimate Radweld, stopped the lot. Everything. Not a drop of liquid came out of that system again. Stayed dry for the month before it was sold for spares on FleaBay.

In case you're worried about my intentions, it was for sale as auto gearbox had given up the ghost at 160k miles.

:D

If it had been that good, wouldn't BP have tried it in the Gulf of Mexico? lol
:augie
:lol:lol

rang the company today, sales guy passed me onto techy who said it would seal my leak in a cylinder coil, not sure myself but at £14 plus vat it has got to be worth a go, only problem is they will not deal with the public so have to go to an agent and nearest is Uckfield:doh , Rick

Think ..... when it meets air - plenty of that in the expansion bottle

Find a cure not treat the symptoms ...... it will come back to bite you :doh

not correct first it is not air but nitrogen, second it is separated from the water by a diaphragm, I did try to extract from the guy as to how it would "know" it was a leak other than a small orifice in the normal flow but he was unable to say, problem for me is it is a manageable leak and to replace the cylinder we are talking a shed load of dosh, it is taller than me and has 3 coils 2 solar one boiler, Rick
