Hello all
1st post of many I suspect
We have just bought our first T2 (a 95 lwb)
Driving home, thinking how wonderful and quite my new car is, I could hear water sloshing and when I got out I discovered I had rather wet Boots and a large quantity of water ran onto the drive!! 8O
Hubby, who is used to a more agricultural 4x4 , investigated and found that the drivers sill was completely full of water 8O
Could someone please pop up a picture of where the drain hole should be before hubby takes the lawn aerator to the entire sill . I have searched the forum and the one piccie seams to have disappeared .
Thanks in advance for all your help

Hi there, I can't send a picture as I've not got a T2 anymore, but the drain hole is just in front of the rear wheel.

Piece of wire usually does the job

if foot well soggy, likely water is coming in from behind the front wheel mud flap. there is a drain hole there typically just in front of side step if fitted. the cavity there doesnt connect with actual sill whose drain is as already described.

may find that if flap removed and inner wing liner moved load of mud in cavity. the drain i mentioned is from the sunroof which gos down a pillars into this area but if cruded up will flood up and into car. other source of water in foot wells is from leaking heater matrix.

sorry no pic but yes hole just in front of the rear wheel.

basically as the outer cill curves around and joins the inner cill on the inside of the wheel arch where it all meats at a point if you like... that is where the hole is normally clogged with mud... bit of wire and you will prob get buckets out

I found quiet a few drain holes running along my sills on the inner side of the sill lip &I used a cable tie to clear any muck out

Thanks all
Will send hubby out with various bits of wire and cable ties tomorrow
will get him to clean the front as well and report back
