Has anyone replaced the washer pump without removing the OSF Wing? I've got a replacement but not had chance to fit it yet. Was going to remove the wing but really not going to be able to do that this year for several reasons. I know the bottle bolts in from engine bay but the bolts just spin on mine. I was wondering if I could remove splash guard and be able to remove it that way. I think it's a tight push fit. Has anyone done this and got any tips please.

yes it is just possible but very hard on the fingers trying to get it in and of course you cannot see what you are doing, I did one for a friend and took three attempts to get it water tight, Rick

can you leave that one were it is and mount another else where for now? moving it later when you have the time. as long as you can extend pipe work and electrics reach i see no problemo

Seems a possible plan, you could either pump through from the other pump, or put a dip tube into the resevoir.

You will need some suitable pipe work, but doable as Larson suggests.:thumbs:thumbs

Should meet MOT as well.:bow

Best regards,

Rustic

HeHe, I did that 2 years ago and the five pound accessory shop pump has given up the ghost. Was speaking to wife about it tonight, for now I'm going to buy another cheap pump and fit it as I'm in now fit state to do much at the moment, still recovering from the accident. MOT due in about a month so I want to get it sorted and out of the way.

Cheers Guys

There's me reading about you needing a new water pump and then reading that you have fitted a cheap one remotely :nenau:nenau

That will teach me for not reading it properly...washer pump :lol:lol

Well thing is original packed up a couple of years ago and it was easier for mot to stick a cheap one on with a separate switch just to get it through the test. A while ago I got a replacement original from CNC with the idea of replacing for this years MOT. Since the accident a while ago it has become obvious that I'm going to have to stick a five quid special on again to get it through test and then when I'm better and more time I can sort it properly then. I was thinking may be August I'd be able to sort it out properly but just been asked to spend some more time away for some voluntary work I do. I just need that Lotto win and then I can pay someone to do it lol.

Hi Guy's, I managed to release the washer pump from the bottle this afternoon. Can't get it out from under the wing because the wires are just too short and I can't get my hands in to release them. Clivvy has kindly offered to come over on Saturday morning to remove wing for me. If anyone knows the knack of removing the cable I'd appreciate it just the same.

I reckon I'll be suffering later though after doing a little too much today:(

Job done, all sorted because of a cracking mate on here. Many thanks to Clivvy a real gent, he came and replaced the pump. Then we found blocked pipes to rear jet. All sorted now and ready to take for MOT this week.

Thanks Clivvy :clap:clap:clap
