I hate this type of bar, as they never clamp on correctly, if you can clamp them, then there is a risk of denting the roof.

I have taken 2 different sets back as when fitted as per the instructions, they come loose very easily, so what will happen with a load on......:eek:

If you have to brake hard, I would guess the bars plus load will carry on.

I think some makes of these should be banned.:nenau

gutterless roof bars

 cheers failing this i will have to find roof rails which means drilling holes:naughty didn.t want to do that tho:(

I have a set of Nissan branded roofbars (no permanent rails on car) and I have never had any problems with them coming loose. The only slight moan is the distance between the front and rear bars when fitted is not great and you need to be carefull when putting large loads on them.
The biggest and longest load so far was a 10.5m steel TennaMast which split into 2 sections but was very heavy.

Sorry at the moment the roof bars are a keeper as they come in very useful from time to time. They were supplied by a Nissan Dealer and are branded Nissan but I don't know who manufactured them. If I can find the original fitting instructions I will see if they have any more details.
