Just bought a 2003 Terrano 2.7 sport (special edition), it has 17 inch wheels and is currently fitted with 235/65/17 summer tyres that are looking a bit worn so I'm going to change to winter/at tyres.

any advice/suggestions?

Looking at the website of my local specialist www.ajs I see two possible candidates in the grabber AT2 or BFG.

Not sure if they would fit though, would 265/65/17 be ok (been reading about mud flaps having to be removed etc, but not sure if thats for different models or tyres),

thanks!

grabber are changing patterns so be careful as last think u want is if u need to replace a tyre the tread pattern is different

i like the look of cooper discovery st maxx do them in a 17 inch look on silverline tyres

good luck:thumbs

just ordered a set of STs for the T2, seem to be the next best bet to
the much to be missed general grabber at2.

seems plenty of fresh air in the tread without going to a full MT pattern.

came across them after fell for look of the cooper STT, yep contradicting
myself here as they are a full MT though up there with the likes of BFG,
though not in my size hence going for ST, which btw are rated as a 60/40
off road/on road bias.

The US Cooper site gives them a 50,000 mile warranty as I recall, the UK
site doesnt mention it but still sounds promising.

Cooper dont supply oem tryres, which means, in their words they dont
compromise performance for economy/quietness.

fun fun

the previous owner had a bfg 31 10 50:15 mt fitted to the spare its never been used these are similar tread pattern but have the side wall pattern. We had bfg mts fitted to our old Y60 the plan was to only run them when going playing in the mud but in the end i just left them fitted all the time.

drop links next week some time then tyres ready for the snow :D

Got Avons on mine, nice for the road but not a lot of cop in the mud.

visited ajstyres earlier and got 4 new general ATs fitted. Very impressed. Noticed a difference immediately, lets see how it copes in the snow (if and when it comes!)
