VW Diesel Engines High Miles

Hi guys, looking at VW vans to convert. Has anyone had much to do with vw diesel high mileage engines and gearboxes?

Seems to be a lot with 100k but also over 200k

My T4 was a touch over 100k, ran like a sewing machine, just got to watch the cam belt, and by all accounts a pig to change....
Loved my VW but rolled in in very bad conditions sadly.......would defo have another if and when I leave the world of 4x4.....

When buying second hand vehicles I don't worry about how many miles are on the clock with in reason. If you look through the scrap yards very few end up there because of engine failure due to high miles.

i keep think about a sprinter high top lwb with 4x4 for a motor home,not worried about high miles on a deisel as they are so well made nowadays.pulled so many mh of off rallys without 4x4.
