Dear all

The temperature on my truck, when driven hard, will rise to just over half way.

Would a failing viscous fan cause this or would the fan only really help cooling at low speed.

Going away on hols soon and I would like to get it sorted

thanks in advance

mine runs half way in this weather when i climb a hill but on the flat about quater is the norm for mine:augie

i think that is normal,if its got some resistance when turned by hand thats ok.
when you start engine it howles for a bit but as it works it gets quieter.
mine stays just under half but creeps up towing uphill.

If your fan is working as it should then the "roar" you get on startup for a short while should also happen when the temperature rises, with the window down I can certainly hear mine, if you do not get this then the fan could be suspect, check that the spindle in the center is not seized, Rick
