Hi Guys,

New problem this week, the Mistral decided to not blow any warm air in the car. I thought it was the thermostat so put a new one which did not change anything.

Hot water is still going through under the bonnet and the flap from air to cold seems to work under the dash when moving the controls.

Any ideas ?

flush the heater matrix .... try that

erm,,,,buy some gloves :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol check all ya fuses could be the heater matrix but i think you repaired that not long ago didn't you?

i would hazard a guess , you have either acquired an air lock , or your heater matrix needs a flush

Well i'm breaking a terrano and the dashboard is out so if there's anything you need just ask:thumb2

whats the temeperature needle doing?

when in heating mode do the pipes to the heater get hot, both of them, if not there is a valve on the heater that turns on and of so this may not be working, Rick

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

- how do you flush the matrix ?
- do you know which fuse it is on the terrano ?
- yes there is a brand new matrix in it and was working for over a month now fine.
- temperature needle says every is ok
- Pipes going to the heater seems to work (from engine bay to the two plugs in the matrix) which valve are you referring ?

thanks guys :thumbs

well on the petrol heater that I have there is a cable operated water control valve on the heater box, worth checking this is working, Rick

Good point actually; its not uncommon for the bowden cable clamp to come adrift so that you select HOT but the cable hasn't actually moved....you'd need to get the centre dash out to check Seb.

ok... only a few bits done

Again :doh

I think I can do it fast enough now :augie

now there lies a clue ... hes allready pulled it to bits ..... hmm

yea he pulled it to bits to do the heater matrix

i was a bit slow there!:doh

Seb take it off again and check that when you move the heater slider it actually operates the cable...theres a metal clip that holds the outer cable casing in place and it comes adrift........I bet thats your problem if you've been fiddling in there.....

you are a very tenacious man! I would have shot it by now :doh

thanks

I changed all the interior and did so much work on it, there is no way I will give up.....

:D
