Well finally took the plunge and put some veg oil in the old girl today. I put £40 of deisel in (28litres) and 20 litres of veg oil from farm foods £19.90. Im a bit nervous about it clogging fuel filter and cutting out in a awkward place as i tried this last year but with wvo and she didnt like it.
Ive done about 20 miles so far and fingers crossed all is well:D

Well done for taking the plunge :)

I went for 100% veg from the off, never had a problem, changed fuel filter after about 1500 miles

After trying loads of diesel and petrol mixes, now I've settled with :

40 ltr of KTC soya in, then stick £10 worth of unleaded petrol on top, this is perfect

Mine's fine on it mate, just takes a few more turns in the cold , but so what many POUNDS saved = many more hours fun :clap

Mines OK as well mate, i was nervous when i first put it in a couple of months ago and not had any problem apart from my own fault, I put 35ltr of veggi oil in then took it to petrol station and filled up with diesel drove it home about 1mile then following morn -2 it wouldn't start so had to bump it [live on a steep hill] i think it was down to not had time to mix property. It also sounds quieter.

I made sure i put diesel in first lol, still running sweet so im pretty happy:D. Its very slightly lumpy on first start up in mornings but that lasts a few seconds. Whats the best ratio diesel to oil that you guys have found for this cold weather?

40 litres veg: 7 Lts petrol is best at -2 up to whatever temp

can you mix veg with diesel ? ..... and would that be benefiicial in cold weather ?

Exactly the mix I use!!!! I've been getting Tesco veg for 73p a litre with a bit of jiggery pokery with some coupons at the self serve :sly

arent farmfoods still doing 10 ltrs for £9.99 ?

plus if you spend £20 you get £5 off with a coupon

Ive ran 20litres through mine seems ok at the moment..

Cheers Gav

This inspired me to take the plunge on Saturday as well.
Rapeseed (Tesco Veg) at £1/Litre.
Then I realised I should have used the £5 off £40 worth of shopping vouchers that I have.
With that and the petrol a 52L mix would work out at 97.5p/L.
Loving the saving and loving the burger van smell.
A little lumpy for the first minute on a cold start but i'm still running the Speedchip on max setting.
It runs even better on veg than it did on V-Power!

Good stuff mate

Once you've tried rape you won't look back :lol

just put another 20litres of farmfoods oil in on top of the original mix:D. Thought it would be rude not to:naughty:D

ive been told not to use veg oil in my bighorn , dunno wot pump ive got , but the a/c compressor is Zexel , so I guess the same :nenau
