The VP44 IP contains embedded electronics (PUMP ECU) an relies to a large degree on the incoming fuel to keep the pump body temperature at a level acceptable for the e!ectronics.
So, this would rule out any heating of SVO prior to the IP.
There may well be lubrication issues too.
It is an expensive part to replace!

Wow!!! Ray!!!! :thumbs

I was just going to give you a straight no based on what others have said in the past however, Ray has now given you the technical reason :D

That answers that.
What about the 2 stroke ?
I will admit that every now and then I throw half a pint of engine oil into the fuel tank:thumbs

I use 2T in mine at ~400:1, it certainly quiets the direct injection clatter somewhat.
As for fuel economy I have no idea, a 3.0L diesel married to an auto slush box is never going to be the most economical ride! But it is a nice lazy drive.

I stick 2 stroke in the Trol at 200:1, no issues and she definitely runs quieter.

I think the fuel economy is slightly better (manual box) although it could just be that my driving habits have improved since fitting the winch bumper and the muds (as I'm aware they would decrease the mpg).
