Have a problem with T2 veering hard to the left when braking. Can be severe enough on heavy braking. I'm doing some work to the vehicle before my wife starts driving it. She is only learning to drive but should be driving on the public roads soon and it could be dangerous for her if the T2 dives to the left if she hits the brakes heavy (especially when the ABS tends to shudder a bit anyway on heavy braking as per my previous thread). Anyone have any advice (on how to sort the problem on braking not on the wife driving).

jammed caliper pin is a common fault on these which might be causing one side to operate less effectively....if you're careful you can disassemble and clean/lubricate the pin, whereas a garage might want to replace the entire caliper....

it is proberly something to do with the caliper sliders being siezed or badly worn pads, zippy will be on soon and he will get you the page from manual and then you can have a butchers, it's a fairly straight forward job, if you are confident on working on you brakes. :thumbs

Like others have said: possibly pads seized in slide and or caliper slides seized or the piston it self(new caliper required for later)

Didn't get the chance to have a look at the calipers on front brakes. They don't seem to be sticking though as there is no holding or drag after applying the brakes. I decided to try to replace the rubbers on the stabiliser bar as one of them is in bits from a previous oil leak. Also need to change tyres as they are not helping. If this does not help then I will move on to the calipers.

The sticking might be in the 'off' position though Dan, i.e. brake pressure only being applied one side?

Thanks for that. I have to replace the rubbers on the stabiliser bar anyway and not all tyres are exactly the same size and are just about road legal. so they have to be changed as well. But I will take the wheel off and have a look at the weekend. Got sidetracked last weekend with lights--plastic connector to headlight bulb had melted????

sounds like someone might have put 100w bulbs in or something, unless you had a short?

Two of the wires were stripped so they were probably touching. Don't know why they were stripped at the ends. Hope it was a previous owner at them and not that the insulation melted off.
