Hi

Can anyone tell me what the vacuum operated valve which sits on the inlet manifold side of the intercooler should do?? Mine is not connected and looks like it should move a flap in the inlet manifold???? I think the linkage is broken as there is nothing joining the valve to the flap...just a little link flapping in the wind!!! Seems to run fine but it might be important?? It is a 2002 2.7td 5 door model... I am very new to 4x4's and diesels (my 1st one) and find all the extra bits n bobs confusing :nenau

thanks

we disconnected makeitfits one, as his was running poor. it helped to disconnect .

i think it is like an engine brake. take your foot off the gas and it closes the valve, so more responsive

not all have it. and i have only seen it on the hitachi system.

rick (solorman) or toolbox will know more

I believe it may be something to do with a preventing judder on engine stop. Should probably close when engine is switched off...and then slowly open.

I took mine out :thumbs

10 out of 10 that boy :thumbs
It's a gay way of stopping the engine:rolleyes: I've now taken the innards out too so improving air flow:D

nothing wrong with a little shake, rattle, & stop... vs airflow.

Thanks.... just need to work out which way keeps it open then I will fix it with a spring in case it shuts itself!!!
