Don't know if this would be possible with the standard one on the terrano due to the lubrication needed to stop it burning out.
Been looking on some jeep forums as to how it's done and what they used.
Could just buy a small comp to run from the battery but where is the fun in that.
Thoughts and ideas anyone :nenau

What are you planning to run? :nenau

I looked into this a few years ago. I concluded the storage tank was a pain. So took the easy way out and did the 12v compressor job. Works fine for tyres but not for air tools.
On the LWB is there room for a tank underneath by the fuel tank perhaps ?

Have read about the AC pump being used to inflate tyres on a Nissan, not sure if Bud on here has done it or not but i'm sure i've seen it mentioned on expedition portal so will have a look on there to see if I can find anything for you failing that i'll ask:thumbs or it might of been the Italian T2 club again i'll have a look & ask

Loads of room underneath for a small tank on the lwb.
It's keeping the standard comp lubed up as it's in the refrigerant and circulated through the ac system.
Could possibly swap the ac comp for the air suspension comp from a range rover.
No real need to do it Alex but why not.
Ac system on mine leaks and never used it when it didn't.
If it can be put to good use instead of just being gay then I'm all for it:thumbs

I'm not familiar with this air con gayness but could you use a small closed loop. Maybe like a power steering bottle and short pipes ?

The ones on the RR's & disco 2's have a nasty habit of burning out & is often why owners strip the air bags out & fit coil springs:augie when I was on the LR forums:eek: a few D2 owners did use the air compressor for blowing up tyres as their comp was good but the last time I priced up a S/H comp as I had air bags on mine they weren't cheap

Not worth the hassel will be my answer unless you want to run air tools and include a receiver/tank, vets run standard fridge compressors for air supply for air dental drills etc and these need an oil supply to the inlet of the comp but never looked as to how they do it, but it is obviously possible, Rick

Will have to have a look in the manual at how the comp is lubed then take it from there.
Would be nice to be able to run air tools and also air locker:naughty
