I guess it's a bit like when you go over a bump and your speedometer stops working for a few seconds. Loss of data from GPS ?
 
As above, I'd say? Speed remains pretty constant, and for an altitude drop of that magnitude in such a short time I'd have guessed the speed would've massively increased?
 
More importantly, there's been nothing in the news

Cheers was thinking hoping error. 28 000 feet in a minute would be like free fall I guess. Was too late to ring last night will ring today.
 
i make that just over 315 mph, thats faster than freefall, somone would have noticed I'm sure
