Just bought myself a U480 code reader but am having problems linking it to the truck. It keeps coming up linking error, have tried it on my daughters yaris and works fine, Can some one please tell me if i'm on the right connector or whether my truck is compatable. 2005 3.0 di and am connecting to the 16 pin plug just below the fuse board near drivers side foot well.
cheers.

UB480 code reader is OBD/CAN compatible only.
The diagnostic interface on your truck will only be proprietary Nissan Consult. No OBD connectivity.
Search the forum for ECUtalk for more info on what WILL work.

Boll..ks!, Thanks for that was thinking if i bought that i could check to see if everything was in order. Oh well will do a search to try and find what will work.
Thanks again.

Is there any thing i can buy which will just plug in like the u480 code reader and work on the terrano. Cheap reader from ebay etc? Searched forum everything thing to in depthed for my knowledge, just want to plug in and read! Must be some bit of kit out there!
Any help appreciated please.

That'll work but it may not fit a modern'ish lappy with no RS 232 port then you wil need an adaptor to fit usb 2.0. David

Good point, I couldn't get my usb/serial converter to work now you remind me.
Is there another reader with usb out?

Another thing you need to take care of is the connector, the Consult interface units on ebay all have the older 14pin connector, yours is a 16pin.
So just buy a loose 16pin (JS1692) connector and wire it to the consult interface. It's pretty simple just 4 wires.

Too complicated for me, not as simple as the u480 code reader especially as i dont have a laptop!! any thing else hand held stand alone unit?

Only hand held unit I know of is a genuine Nissan Consult II.
Problem is they are a tad expensive. You might pick one up for about 2000 quid or so!
