As I'm new to off roading & loving it i thought I'd start this thread as i couldn't find 1 specific to "tyre" sizes... "shocks"... "body lift"...

I'm led to believe that 235/75R15 & R16 are the standard sizes  Please correct me if I'm wrong :doh

My truck so far :-
Removed rear anti roll bar
Wound the torsion bar to the limit
Rough Country Shocks all round (longer rears)
Standard swb rear springs
31x10.50R15

At the moment i have decent flex & no rubbing of arch's.

1st. How much more clearance do you gain from changing to lwb or other longer springs.?

2nd. I know from my own experience & that of "extreme-4x4" & "makeitfit" that going from standard size to 31's is fine as long as the wheel off set is right.

But when you step up to :-

30x9.50R15
31x10.50R15
33x10.50R15
33x12.50R15
35x12.50R15

What body mods are required for each size.

& heres a useful tyre site :-

From my limited experience..

LWB Springs + 1.5" + harder ride
265/75/R16 is as wide as we go on standard nissan offset wheels (285/75/R16 would be touch and go)

they fit at the rear with ease and just at the front on full lift or easily with re-index (torsion bar remove and twist).

standard terrano / mav is 235/75/R15 or 235/70/R16

early ones has 215s

Save youself a few quid and get em HERE then - if you were up here I could get you em fitted for about that price too, but my local man doesn't do mail order.

Cant he do mobile :augie
I'm only a few hundred miles down the road :lol

Forgot albout "canskill" :doh :clap

I was just about to order 4 from ebay from a pm from "Darwin" :thumbs
But
Ya just saved me about £30's.! :bow
I'll call & order tomorrow :thumbs
Me mate owns a garage so wheel fitting isnt a problem plus "tezzer" has offered to fit tyres to :bow :thumbs

Cheers Simon :thumbs

These are the tyres i've plumped for :-
Front :-
BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A K/M 31x10.50R15
new from www.camskill.co.uk
Rear (& spare) :-
MAXXIS Buckshot 31x10.50R15
already on the wheels,nearly new,from extreme-4x4 :thumbs

should have stuck with the maxxis buckshots all round.

great tyre and youd have no problem with size variations. cos you will likely get that on 31's

did tell you !

Always learn the hard way :doh :lol
Well impressed with the Buckshots on road :thumbs
BFG's where a gamble from various people i spoke to...
Decided to go for them on the front rather than replacing the buggered tyre as there a well hard compound & should last for yonks :naughty
When the rears run low i'm gonna try Insa Turbos...

on 4wd's you should always use the same tyre on all 4 wheels. size variation buggers your transmission ..... very quickly

and these trucks are prone to it anyway

they might say 31's but rarely are

Shouldn't really be an issue on a T2 Adz as you only ever use 4wd offroad where you'll be travelling slowly and any variances can be taken up by wheels slipping, much as it has to anyway because of the lack of centre diff.

Well...
I didnt think about it...
But i cant see it making a difference :nenau
I could understand it if the rims & tyres where all different...

well mine nearlly went on "a woodland type track " in 4wd with matching tyres..... so now you need to be extra carefull
