My nearside tyre is wearing off the outside edge at an outstanding rate but cant see any reason why...

stuck new poly bushes into top wishbone, new shocks, checked ride height (checking again tomorrow), used a wee spirit level thingy and both wheels running same camber angle and wound steering arm out to give a little toe out but still its wearing and heating outside edge more than rest of tyre???

anyone got any ideas what i'm missing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is it rubbing on any thing :?: if its getting hot then that would be my first thought.are they standard tyres, have you got spacers fitted :?: ive got 235/75/15 mud terrain and they are close to the mud flaps on full lock.check the pressure and get it tracked up by laser. :?

The very best thing I have done to deffeat uneaven tyre wear is take it to a small 3D tracking center. The guy was excellent and even with the fact that I have a twisted chassis I have most even tyre wear ever.

I went to a bigger place first and they messed up my truck wound 1 torrsion bar right down, and managed to strip the thread on the adjustment bolt.

Find some one genuine.

Also before I got the tracking done I changed the steering ideler wich helped.

Mine has a history of doing this even after tracking. When I first bought mine a took notice and quite a lot of 4x4's seem to do the same thing. Mine isn't doing it to the same extent now but I think that it is simply not doing the same mileage anymore. I used to have Bridgestone duellers on mine but 2 years a go I switched to Toyo AT's which have not seemed to show signs of wear as of yet.

mine used to wear on the o/s inner so i changed the two front tyres around and had it tracked which helped.also one of the tyres kept losing pressure so i had it re seated on the rim and this cured it to some extent.got mud terrains on now and doesn't seem to pull to one side now but i get steering wobble at about 50 mph :?

had new tyres two weeks ago, wheels balanced, tracking checked and it still does it.has done it ever since i have owned it(last august)can drive through it but it still doesn't change the fact that it's still there. :?

I have fitted a steering stabiliser to mine as i have big tyres, helped a lot with vibration and shudder.

My inclination would be to take your vehicle back to the place where you had your new tyres fitted and ask them to check wheel balance again...I have known them fit the wrong weights 8O

Something...and I strongly suspect wheel balance is causing your judder...get em to check the rims carefully for distortion...do you know anyone else close to you that owns the same vehicle...if you do you could always swop wheels at front temporarily to see if that eliminates your judder problem...

Check the drag link, if the ball joints in it are getting sloppy you'll never truelly be able to set the tracking up - really you never can on these trucks unless you replace the ball joints with plain bearing - its definitely the next mod I'm doing, its a really daft set up as standard, have worked on other IFS cars with steering bo ad idler rather than a rack and never seen one with 4 balljoints supporting the drag link, and them not being in a straight line only makes matters worse.

my mate works at ets where i had them done and i watched him balance them and i'm sure he would tell me if one of the rims were damaged :|i also changed the rears to the front just to kill my curiosty.have read that its a problem with nissan alloys on this truck.
thanks hb will have a look at that when it stops raining.

Mines all standard set up with new kumo ats on the front bout 4k on them and outer edge on nearside tyre is near off .

cant see anything obvious no play in ball joints or bottom arm bushes so wound up the height a little and see if anyones open to track it tomorrow and see what happens
